Learning to Fly in London!

Learning to Fly in London!

I can’t even believe it even as I write it, but I have actually flown a plane! The plane you see in the photo. I mean, you may as well call me Captain from now on. Well, not quite, but still. I flew amongst the crowds, and it was the best thing ever!

I’m a bit of an adrenaline junkie and always looking for fun things to do, but I must admit I had never even considered the option of flying an actual plane, nor did I know it was possible to even do so. But guess what? I flew and actual plane and was given an actual certificate to prove it! And what’s more, I didn’t even need to go abroad to do it, I just went half an hour north of London. You may know Borehamwood as home of Big Brother (the TV show, not my actual big brother), but it is also the home of Flight Training London.

At Flight Training London you can learn to fly for fun, or more seriously if you want to be able to fly a plane yourself. You can even rent a plane there if you already have a licence. If, like me, you just want to experience flying for a thrill, then you need to book a trial lesson.

A trial lesson lasts for half an hour and means that you go up in the air with an instructor and you get a mini lesson and chance to try out taking off, flying (including going up, down, left, and right) and probably the most nerve-wracking part - landing! Your instructor has controls too so there’s no need to panic about doing the wrong thing.

If you go with a friend then they can sit in the back (there’s actually two spaces in the back, but it is pretty cosy!), and you land then swap around so they can go. I had the best morning, I’m already excited to go again!

If you’re tempted to go flying after reading this post then do let me know with the reaction buttons or comments. Perhaps you’ve gone on an awesome adventure in the UK that you think I should try, then do let me know that too!
