If you’re looking for something out of the ordinary to do in London then you have to consider the Enigma Escape.
I went along with my friend Charlotte de Carle last week after discovering it on the Internet and we had the best 60 minutes so wanted to tell you about it! Im not going to give away too much as it’d ruin it for you but basically you get locked in a room and have an hour to get out!
We were greeted by Hon, who built the game with his cousin, and we were given popcorn and water as we watched an animation film to give us some context. Then we gave our phones and possessions in and it was straight into the dark room where the door was locked behind us and the timer began ticking.
Now I like to think Charlotte and I are pretty intelligent people and we’ve also watched A LOT of horror films so I thought we’d be well equipped to deal with the Saw-like situation of being locked in a room by a serial-killer with an hour to get out but it was surprisingly difficult! Lucky for us clues would pop up on the tv screen to guide us through when we needed it (don’t worry, they weren’t easy enough to give it away!).
As we neared the final fifteen minutes things got pretty tense between us as we were getting so frustrated with ourselves but we miraculously managed to get out of the room with 5 minutes to go!
Afterwards Hon told us that only 40% of people make it out on time so you definitely won’t find it easy! Oh and rest assured the others were let out of the room, haha! I’d totally recommend going along to the Enigma Escape with either a group of friends, or even a date if you’re looking for something a little different and adventurous! You’re allowed up to five people in the room at once!
Do let me know if you end up going along, and if you managed to make it out. If you’ve done other quirky acticities in London or around the UK let me know about them in the comments, as I’m already looking for my next adventure.
Speak to you soon,
