OOTD | Platforms & Flares

I remember when people started wearing skinny jeans I thought they were the most hideous and unflattering things ever and vowed I'd never wear them. Long live boot cut jeans. Almost a decade later I can honestly say I've barely worn anything other than skinny jeans or jeggings and I certainly didn't think I'd be writing a post about wearing flares. This is actually my second outfit post about flares, although last year when I wore them I don't think they'd quite caught on!

I adore these light wash flares and I've gone to town with the 70's trend wearing them with tan colours and platforms.

I've kept my accessories black to tie in the leopard print and my shades. This handbag is amazing as it has lots of different compartments and a pull out clutch if you want to switch from day to night. Both the bag and watch have really nice rose gold details.

The Ultimate Christmas Gift Guide | For Her

It's getting closer and closer to Christmas. If you're starting to panic about what to get the woman in your life, then don't. Here's my ultimate Christmas Gift guide whether you're shopping for a girlfriend, mum, or sister!

The Main Present:

Nutribullet - I bought a Nutribullet this year and it's so good and super easy to use and quick to clean. You can make smoothies, protein shakes, and sauces. Definitely good if your man is nifty in the kitchen or wants a bit of a health kick.

Nespresso Latissimo+ Coffee Machine - his coffee machine makes lattes and cappuccinos. Perfect for the coffee lover - and if it's for your boyfriend think of the coffees you get as a result!

iPad Air 2 - because everyone's on the move these days

Kindle: Because everyone should read more, and kindles are more lightweight than books and more eye friendly than iPads.

Stella McCartney camera bag with Canon EOS100D camera: The perfect blend of fashion and technology

Roberts DAB Radio: They look so cute, but are the kind of thing that are too expensive to buy for yourself.

Lomography Camera: Another camera, I know.

Sony Cyber-shot HD Digital Camera: Definitely the sexiest digital camera on the market. It's full HD, has a flip screen and records videos too.

Fujifilm Instax: This gorgeous white camera takes instant pictures.

Jewellery:

Whistle & Bango Postcode jewellery: Give the ultimate personal gift - Whistle & Bango allow you to attach your memories to a particular place with their postcode bangles. You can create whatever you want on the bangle, whether it's a postcode, area code, coordinates, or even name. They also offer engraving on the inside so you can add your personal message to the place.

Daisy earrings: I love these Marc Jacobs stud earrings (as well as the perfume and most of the daisy jewellery collection). Despite being designer they don't cost a fortune either!

Stacking Ring: A Tommy Hillfiger ring - I love the different metals, this is so pretty.

Heart bracelet: Again, another piece from Tommy Hillfiger, this bracelet is so cute.

Monica Vinader Rose Gold & diamond friendship bracelet: This is just so beautiful, and I love rose gold.

Astley Clarke love pendant: Show them you love them.

Madewell Bar Stacking Rings: I love these rings, and they nice and affordable too!

Michael Kors watch: This is my absolute favourite watch in the world. I need it in my life.

Michael Kors Tortoise & Gold Ring: Another classic. I want this!

Kate Spade Studs: These are super cute.

Clothing:

Christmas Jumpers: Because Christmas jumpers are super cute, and the perfect gift to wear on Christmas day. I love this one and this one both from ASOS.

Dressing Gown: This one from Boux Avenue and is so comfortable. I own it myself.

Givenchy Bambi T-Shirt: Again, Bambi is amazing.

Barbie Wildfox T-shirt: Ok, it's a little girly, but I love this Tee!

Jumper: I love the collection of sweaters in Joules range at the moment, but this duck one is my favourite. It's nice and colourful to keep you warm in springtime.

Trenchcoat: I love this coat, it's perfect for spring.

Accessories:

Trainers: These Nike Air Max trainers so so slick, and trainers make outfits look cool and are super comfortable.

Grafea Leather Backpack in peach: Sometimes backpacks are just more practical, and this one looks great too!

Manolo Blahnik heels: Release the Carrie Bradshaw in the woman in your life with these absolute incredible heels. They're so classic they can be worn for years!

Givenchy Bambi purse: Because who doesn't love Disney.

Michael Kors handbag: I adore this handbag, it's such a classic

Wildfox Sunglasses: I love these sunglasses.

Rag & Bone Fedora: I love floppy hats, and you can pretty much wear them all year round.

Claire Vivier clutch: I adore this navy & gold clutch, plus it's nice and festive!

Kate Spade iPad Mini case: I love this case.

Illesteva Sunglasses: Tortoiseshell frames and blues lenses, these are some of my favourite sunglasses.

GHD rose gold straighteners: I absolutely love rose gold and I just think these are so smart.

Stocking Fillers:

Comfy socks: because lounging around in the house never felt so appealing.

Perfume: Let's be honest, everybody should wear perfume, but it's so expensive to buy for yourself making it the perfect gift. I'd recommend Marc Jacobs Daisy or Chloe

Argan Oil body set: Skin gets dry in winter and this is the best moisturiser I've ever come across for making skin sikly soft - plus for every gift box the Body Shop sell they pay for a child to go to school somewhere in the world. It's nice to get a feel good factor with your Christmas shopping.

When Harry Met Sally: My favourite film of all time. It's a classic.

Cashmere Gloves: because we always complain it's cold!

Louboutin iPad Case: If she has an iPad it may as well look good when she carries it around.

Aesop post-poo drops: Yup, that's right! You pop these drops into the loo after you've ... erm... been. They take away any odours unlike air fresheners that just put a gross cheap smell over an already unpleasant smell. Plus the bottle is nice too.

Sea Salt Chocolate: These are my favourite chocolates in the world, plus the packaging is amazing too.

Printed Cushion: I love the pattern of this cushion.

How to be Parisian book: a guide on how to dress and behave, because we should all have a bit of Parisienne class. A nice table for the coffee table.

Personalised Copper Mugs: These are so cute, and you can get any letter you want, making it the perfect winter warmer.

Tom Ford body oil: Because this smell is so sexy, and our skin needs some TLC in colder months.

Floral Lunch box: Because everybody starts January planning to make lunches to save money, and this is super cute.

Stila eyeshadow: I love this palette, and the packaging is gorgeous too.

Heart Luggage tag: For the avid traveller.

Lulu Guinness make-up bag: I think this is lovely make-up bag and is the ideal size to carry round in your bag.

Elemis Face care set: You cannot beat Elemis face care and this is the perfect starter pack with everything you need for fresh skin.

Snowman socks: Because everyone needs nice socks, and these will keep you toasty for the rest of winter.

Leather Make-Up bag: A cheaper but still beautiful make-up bag.

Kate Moss for Mario Testino: The perfect coffee book, because who doesn't want to look at Kate Moss's face?

Wooden stamp set: Because people should write more letters!

Hot water bottle and fluffy socks: The perfect winter warming combination.

Let me know if this is helpful, or if you've been more organised and done your shopping already!

Until next time... x

Lulu Guinness party | Fashion Week

On Saturday evening I went along to the Lulu Perspective party to celebrate 25 years of the very talented Lulu Guinness.

Lulu is known for her strong sense of personal style and incredibly creative designer handbags and accessories. Her original designs have won her an OBE, the ICONOCLAST award for Lifetime Achievements in handbags, and have even been displayed in the Victoria & Albert Museum.

image.jpg

If you aren't familiar with the brand, then I'm sure you'd recognise about the incredible and now iconic lip clutches? Here's a selection of her work:

The venue looked incredible, with graffiti on one wall, then a raised platform with giants lips, and a selection of Lulu's incredible pieces on display as well as lots of polaroids of famous lips suspended from the ceiling.

I was lucky enough to meet Lulu in the flesh who was wonderful and kind, and very flatteringly insisted she get a picture of me posing with her headphones (which are actually a handbag) because she thought they worked well with my outfit.

image.jpg

I went along with my friend, Irish presenter Lorna Weightman, so it was nice to catch up with her and sip some champagne, before having to call it an early night to prepare for my 10k run on Sunday morning.

Are any of you guys lucky enough to own a Lulu Guinness bag? If so, which do you have?

London Fashion Week: Day 2

Day 1 of London Fashion Week was cancelled for me due to it being Valentine's Day. I know, I'm a sucker for a bit of romance. Although I did have serious FOMO when I had to turn down my invite to the PPQ after party. But Day Two was good so that makes up for it...

Aspinal & Glamour Magazine

To kick off my fashion week I went to the Marylebone Hotel to view a presentation of the Aspinal Marylebone handbags. I’m a huge fan of Aspinal anyway, but these bags are amazing and come in such a nice range of colours and sizes.

IMG_4220_2.jpg
IMG_4231.jpg

The great bag of all is the Marylebone Tech bag - it looks like a normal handbag but comes equipped with charging devices. Anyone who has an iPhone will understand just how amazing this is and I need it in my life.

IMG_4228.jpg

As I've mentioned before I'm really into prints and two pieces, so I wore a matching skirt & top from Paul & Joe, which I accessorised with a Chanel handbag, a Ziba Collection necklace, a Claire's chunky gold bracelet and the SW3, SW6, and SW11 bangles from Whistle & Bango. My shoes are super comfortable and are from New Look.

I went to the event with my friend Wallis Day, and whilst I was there I also met her friends, blogger Em Sheldon and YouTuber Oli White. I also saw my friend Ella Catliff as she was hosting a talk on street style along with Claudia Mahoney, the Fashion & Beauty Director of Glamour magazine.

IMG_4257_2.jpg
IMG_4254_2.jpg

It’s actually on my dream board to feature in Glamour - there’s a random fact for you.

The talk was interesting and they essentially said to wear what makes you feel comfortable. Don’t dress according to how other people / bloggers are dressing as you will lose your own identity and probably not look comfortable either. What do you guys think is important when it comes to streetstyle?

IMG_4252.jpg

They gave away a Marylebone clutch to the girl with the best street style - and I did think she looked awesome. I think the fashion kids totally rocked it the best though...

IMG_4249.jpg

Whilst we were there we sipped on deliciously healthy smoothies and ate canapés - the first of many over the course of fashion week - before heading off to the next stop.

IMG_4232.jpg

The Shopcade Bus

Wallis, Oli, Em, and I headed over to Somerset House where there was a Shopcade bus parked up on the road.

DSC01193.JPG

They had people DJ’ing, mojito cocktails, and a place to get some House of Holland nails and make up.

I did a quick interview for them, charged my phone, avoided the rain and soaked in the party atmosphere - unfortunately we didn’t have time for any pampering as we had to head to the next event.

Zeynep Kartal

Next Wallis and I set off to Freemason’s Hall for the AW14 preview of Zeynep Kartal.

IMG_4301_2.JPG

We were sat front row next to classical singer Natalie Coyle - she always looks so elegant, and a little like Marilyn Monroe, which made me look slightly homeless with my unbrushed hair!

Zeynep designs ball gowns, so it was nice to see her collection and imagine what events I could wear them to.

What do you think of her collection? What are your favourite pieces? I think mine is the bottom left image - not that I would wear it out and about! Anyway, here is Zeynep Kartal herself.

Plus Size Fashion Weekend

Wallis and I headed over the river to London Bridge to show some support for the Plus Size Fashion weekend - the taxi went over Waterloo Bridge which made London look amazing.

IMG_4305.JPG

The venue was beautiful and the girls looked amazing. David Hasselhoff’s daughter, Hayley, was walking as well as ANTM winner Whitney Thompson. Annoyingly most of my photos came out blurry - sorry!

Although I wouldn’t say I am plus size, I’m a size 8, I am very curvy so it was interesting for me to take inspiration from the way in which the clothes fit your shape, especially round the bust. It was especially nice to see matching two piece prints make it into the plus size trends.

IMG_4355.jpg
IMG_4336_2.jpg

The girls all looked amazing, but it was time to head back over the river to the final show of the day.

Fashion International

Before arriving I decided to get changed into another two piece suit, this time by designer James Lakeland. I popped into Topshop to buy some heels and a black top to go underneath the suit. What do you think of outfit number 2?

IMG_4367.JPG
IMG_4446.JPG

I was sat on the Front Row with Wallis next to Katie Piper, who I find so inspirational, Irish TV presenter Lorna Weightman, and Fashion TV presenter Hofit Golan.

Fashion International is a multi-designer showcase and had a line-up of both British and International designers. It was set in the Charing Cross Hotel, which is such a beautiful location.

Annoyingly I lost all my photos from the show but Milusha London and House of Mobe were the best in my opinion. Interestingly, they are both London based designers. I did find some photos of me on the FROW (and loving the rose that was on the seat for me).

At the end of the show I was interviewed for Reelkandi TV and Fashion TV.

I'd love to know what you thought of my fashion week outfits - which did you prefer? Let me know in the comments below.

Oh, the entire day I got so many compliments about my hair. My hair tends to attract a lot of attention on social media - it's a little bit like marmite. Some of you love it, some of you wish I would brush it. For everyone who did ask me that day how I got my hair like that - easy. I curled it two days before (well Neville's did) and then just didn't brush it. Oh and I added a little bit of wind from the UK storms, and a little bit of dry hair shampoo. Luke Friend eat your heart out. Are you a lover or hater of my hair?

Keep your eyes peeled for more Fashion Week gossip coming soon! Until next time... x
