OOTD | the Perfect Dress

TGIF and all that. It's Friday and it feels so good - especially as I'm off to see Blur AND Kylie Minogue this weekend.

I thought as it is truly the season for occasions be it weddings, the races or even the upcoming Goodwood event, I would share my current favourite dress. It's slightly grecian so would look great with lots of gold jewellery. I wore it with these white heels but if you were going to an event like the races then I'd recommend wearing it with gold or tan sandals or wedges. Clark's actually have a really nice collection at the moment so I've added some of my favourites as suggestions.

Oh, and the best thing about this dress is it's currently in the sale, so the whole outfit is under £100!

OOTD:

Dress: Oasis

Sandals: New Look

Necklace: Claire's

I actually wore a dress similar to this to a wedding a few years ago and got so many compliments for it!

OOTD | Summer in the City

London is just the most beautiful place in the sunshine! I just got back from a long weekend of work at the Isle of Wight festival - I shot a really exciting shoot for Now Magazine that I can't wait for you to see. Anyway, after dressing for a festival, I wanted to continue the laid back style for a little longer so put together a very simple outfit.

image.jpg

These trousers are from Oasis's very exciting collaboration with the V&A Museum in which they took archive prints and made a collection out of them. They're loose so are the perfect trousers to wear in the city sun! I wore them with a crop top to show off my waist line as they are so wide fitted I didn't want them to fill me out. The top is from Reformation, a brand I discovered in New York and have fallen head over heels in love with as not only do they sell really high quality and unique pieces, it's also an ethical brand.

I teamed the outfit with gold jewellery and my Tom Ford wayfarer sunglasses. I came across the jewellery brand Zara Taylor on my shoot at the Isle of Wight and presumed it would be super expensive but it's actually so affordable - I'm obsessed with the hand of Fatma sign too!

OOTD - New York Style

I have to say I found it really hard to dress appropriately in New York. Outside it was hot, a little muggy, or there would be torrential rain and thunderstorms, whereas when you went indoors it was like stepping into the Arctic. I absolutely adore the States, especially New York, but the one thing I don't get is the fascination with air con. There is literally air con in every single building and it chills me to my very bones. It's the devil!

image.jpg

I decided to layer my clothes with a big duster coat from Oasis which is loved by my absolute girl crush Mollie King. It's easy to take on and off and I think looks super stylish. Underneath I wore my crop top from my newest discovery, eco-friendly and the all round amazing Reformation. I wore these with cropped white jeans, which kept me warm indoors but also reflected the heat outdoors.

For footwear I needed to stick to something comfortable for a day shopping in the city so I wore my botanical flower print Keds. These are genuinely the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I am actually interested to know what you think the comfiest footwear is as I would almost put money on them being Keds!

I accessorised with some super cool retro Tom Fraud shades and my favourite necklace from Claire's Accessories. I kid you not about three seperate people came up to my in designer department store Sak's to tell me how nice many necklace was and there were amazed it wasn't designer!

I kept my hair in a very messy bun and added some red lipstick in order to distract attention away from my jet lagged eyes. This is my favourite shade of red lipstick I've ever come across, and I also think it goes really well with the khaki and black of my outfit.

New York with Keds

A few weeks ago I was sat in my friend’s house with him, his girlfriend, and dogs soaking wet and feeling rather sorry for myself after getting caught in the rain when I received an email asking if I’d like to go to New York with Keds to celebrate Taylor Swift’s world tour, which coincidentally coincided with her new Keds shoe range. I cannot quite express in writing just how I reacted, but needless to say I was very excited.

Outfit post coming soon!

Outfit post coming soon!

image.jpg

I discovered Keds after they collaborated with my favourite high street brand Oasis - you can read about that in this previous blog post - and I can honestly say that they are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. Usually flat pumps and shoes aren’t really my thing but I have pretty much lived in my Keds since I wrote that post. They are so cushioned making them incredibly comfortable but they come in so many different colours and patterns that there truly is something for everyone whether you describe your style as girly, edgy, preppy or anything in between.

I flew out there with blogger Liv Purvis of What Olivia Did and she was just so lovely it made the trip so enjoyable. I also have the biggest envy of her instagram - this girl knows how to take a good photo!

I am now on the long(ish) flight back from New York and can’t believe what an amazing trip I have had in the city that never sleeps - my smugness is intensified by the fact I have not two but three seats to myself and I’m watching Boyhood. Winning!

Shopping

It would be sacrilegious to go to New York and not dedicate at least a day to shopping, right? So that's exactly what we did.

Reformation

Starting the day in Soho we popped into Reformation, a Californian brand that creates eco-friendly clothes, shoes, and bags. I must admit that I'd never heard of it before but Liv is a big fan and I'm so glad she introduced me to it. The stores a bright and spacious, which made the shopping experience so much more enjoyable. There was a wide selection of clothes from bohemian dresses, suede and leather jackets, to basic crops and patterned tops. Most items were quite unique in their style and there is a really high quality and feel to them. We spent hours trying things on and I eventually settled on a very Dolly Paton-esque top and a basic black crop. The clothes definitely aren't cheap but I feel the quality and sustainability of the pieces make it good value. Plus they only have stores in California and New York so it’s unlikely many people will have the same clothes as you. Oh but don’t worry, they ship worldwide on their website if you want to check them out.

Sak’s

Next we headed over the Fifth Avenue to Sak’s. It’s a department store that I suppose is New York's equivalent of Harrods and has 8 floors of designer clothes and shoes for men, women, and children.

We kicked things off inside with a Nails Inc manicure on the fifth floor. Known as the paint box they offer both normal polish and gel manicures. I browsed through the Alexa Chung and Victoria Beckham selection of polishes before deciding on a classic nude, the Montpellier Walk.

image.jpg

The manicurist was possibly one of the best I've had in terms of how good a job she did the only problem was she was alone and overbooked meaning a half hour manicure actually took her 90 minutes.

On the eighth floor I found a Mungo & Maud closing down sale so I managed to get my dog a Snoop a really cute dog lead and collar for 60% off! I spent hours browsing the shoes and handbags before deciding to take advantage of the American prices and headed over to Apple to treat myself to an iPad mini and case - I'm actually writing this blog post on it as we speak! I've wanted an ipad for ages as it means I won't have to carry my big modelling book with me to castings anymore, plus it means I can carry it round instead of my laptop and work outdoors :)

Refinery 29

One of the greatest experiences of our New York trip was getting a tour of the Refinery 29 offices with the Keds team. We went round the whole office meeting loads of the staff that work there from their talent team, video, creative and even the editor. Everyone was so laid back, friendly, and gave so much of their time to talk to us about their roles within the company even though they were clearly super busy!

For those of you that don't know, Refinery 29 is an online lifestyle destination for fashion, beauty, health, and news. You may have read my blog post on girl power (you can read it here) and know it's a topic I feel really strongly about, so it was so refreshing to hear that they are big supporters of all women. When asked who the typical Refinery girl is we were told that she could be any age or size, just a creative girl with a millennial attitude looking for lifestyle inspiration.

As you'd imagine the offices were so fabulously stylish and made me want to work in an office, well specifically that one! It even had amazing views overlooking the city! And the most exciting news is that they're opening an office in London soon!

Priv

I have written about the beauty app Priv before when it launch in the UK, so I decided to try it out in New York. It’s like Uber but instead of cars you can order makeup artists, hair stylists, personal trainers and masseurs to your work, hotel, or home. I had the pleasure of getting a hair stylist (Shavaughn Byrd) and makeup artist (Joann Solomon) who have both worked with big American actresses before.

I got my hair naturally curled and my makeup was also quite natural with some natural cherry lips. It’s such a good service, I can totally recommend it if you want to get ready for something special.

Accommodation - Hotel Americano

We stayed in Hotel Americano, which is based in Chelsea by the highline - which is an amazing place to walk or run. From the outside the hotel is somewhat unimpressive except from perhaps the huge neon sign attached to the building, but on the inside this boutique hotel was a hidden gem. The room was spacious, the deco very cool and modern, the staff flawlessly helpful, the food incredible, and on top of that there was an outdoor rooftop with a pool overlooking the city.

image.jpg

For breakfast there was a choice of healthy, hearty, or mexican food allowing you to have anything from acai granola, to poached eggs with salmon, to quesadillas! They also had delicious fresh juices and smoothies including the amazing Green Machine.

image.jpg

We also ate lunch in the hotel on the second day and all had the kale and avocado salad which it was honestly so good I would eat it everyday for ever.

image.jpg

Probably the greatest thing about this hotel were all the extra little details: an umbrella in every room with a cute note to let you know you could borrow it, notes attached to the water to let you know you'd be charged if you drank it so not to waste it, and a bathroom full of nice quality toiletries, cotton pads and other essentials. When I was back in England I even received an email thanking me for my stay and informing me that if I ever wanted to return they'd give me a complimentary upgrade - now that’s customer service!

Food

Other than eating in the hotel we got to try out some amazing places for food.

Lunch - the Park

Located in Chelsea, the Park's interior was super cool, very light because of the large windows and  spacious. There was also the most incredible outdoor garden you could eat in but as we were not accustomed to city heat we opted for air con - something I must admit I usually hate; it chills me to the bone!

Liv and I ate an amazing avocado and poached egg salad, whilst Jess, Ked's UK PR manager, ate calamari. It was light but delicious and the perfect meal after a long flight.

18 10th AveNew York CityNY 10011

Dinner - The Cook Shop

We were invited for dinner with the U.S. Keds marketing team in Chelsea as both our which was really love to meet them. We dined in Chelsea as both our hotels were nearby. We got loads of small dishes to share before getting a mammoth chicken main that I couldn't finish. The food was good and we ate loads of small sharing dishes (my favourite way to dine) but the service was a little chaotic.

159 10th avenue at 20th street

Breakfast - Malibu Diner

I woke up early to have lunch with my friend, a New Yorker called Adam I met on yacht week a few years before, at a typical American diner in the city.

The food arrived very quickly after ordering and was deliciously indulgent. The coffee was also bottomless which was ideal due to jet lag! Interestingly the soya milk I was give stateside was different to what we get in the UK - it's thicker and darker - perhaps it has chocolate in to?

163 West 23rd Street

Dinner - Omen

If I could eat one type of cuisine forever it would be Japanese so I was really excited when Jess's friend recommended we go to Omen for our last meal. The menu was very extensive offering everything from sushi, meat and fish dishes to noodles.

To start I had a delicious avocado salad whilst Jess and Liv shared beef carpaccio then for main I ate the most delicious sashimi, which is raw fish. I'd say this restaurant was reasonably priced given I had about ten pieces of sashimi for $35. Liv had a chicken salad and I’m not sure what exactly jess ordered, it was called Sabu Sabu, but her meat and veg came raw and she was given a stove and bowl of boiling water and she had to cook it herself. She loved it!

image.jpg
image.jpg

113 Thompson Street

Cocktails - Edition Hotel

Afterwards Jess and I decided to go for a quick cocktail at the Edition Hotel, the menu was very experimental. I had a gin based drink whilst Jess had a milk and whiskey based one. They were really well presented too with Jess's coming in an old school milk container and mine arriving with rush flowers. There was a nice crowd of young people around us but when it closed we decided to give in to jet lag and called it a night.

5th Madison Avenue

I had the best trip with the Keds and blogger Liv Purvis and the most exciting part of it was being told at the end that we were going to go see and meet Taylor Swift in her UK leg of the tour! I’m too excited to shake it off!

Other tips and nuggets of wisdom I learnt on my trip:

Weather: having gone at the end of May the weather was muggy, hot, sunny and occasionally stormy

Cabs: yellow cabs can be difficult to hail down and you know if they're free cause the number at the front will be lit up. Lots of drivers refuse to take you so,we here if it's not the direction you want to go in but there are Uber cars out there and I found that to be the reliable service.

OOTD | WGSN Global Fashion Awards

A couple of weeks ago I went along to the WGSN Global Fashion Awards hosted by Nick Grimshaw, who was unquestionably amazing.

I decided to wear a feminine dress as recently my style has been more tom boyish and so I thought I'd take advantage of the formal dress code.

To compliment the feminine florals I got my hair put into a pretty milkmaid braid by the amazing app Priv. If you live in London, New York or LA and you aren't familiar with Priv it is the best app ever - you can read more about it here but it is essentially an app that allows you to order makeup, hair, fitness, and beauty treatments to your door, whether it's at home or work. If you want to try it out you can use this link for £20 off your first service.

OOTD | Summer Double Denim

Hey guys,

It's been a while since I blogged so I'm sorry for that, I needed some time out to work on some projects and enjoy the sunshine.

I am back with today's OOTD, which is perfect for when you want it to be summer, but the weather doesn't quite agree. White is a massive trend this summer as is double denim, so I've mixed these together and have an outfit that's perfect for a chilled day trip or day shopping!

I was lucky enough to be one of the first to get my hands on these floral shoes, a collaboration between Oasis and Keds (read more about them here) and I've pretty much lived in them since. They're so comfortable!

The denim shirt is my favourite as it fits so well and is a really nice soft material, and the handbag as a detachable clutch bag inside, which is perfect if you want to go from day to night!

Oh and it was also the WINDIEST day ever when I took these photos. I don't think you realise how many I had to take to get some good photos. Here's just one of the hilarious photos:

OOTD | 70's Suede

I am totally obsessed with the 70's trend at the moment, and so had to invest in these incredible suede shorts from Miss Selfridge. They are high waisted and also aren't too short - seeing to much bottom is one of my pet hates when the sun comes out!

These are the perfect festival shorts and I would wear them with a really low cut blouse and lots of long gold jewellery but I took this photograph whilst in Morocco and so needed to dress more respectably so I teamed them with an incredible lace top.

Snakeskin shoes are all over the highstreet at the moment and these are my favourite pair I've come across and they're also incredibly comfortable.

OOTD | Double Denim

Hey guys,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend. Sorry I didn't post yesterday but I wasn't home and my battery was flat. I've spent the weekend staying the 99 year old lady I visit, which was really nice.

I'm so excited for this week, the sun is shining (woohoo) and my friend Em Sheldon of EmTalks comes back to London for a few days. To kick off my OOTD I'm wearing double denim, which is always my favourite trend as it takes me back to the 90's! I absolutely love this shirt as the material is really soft, it's a nice colour, and the sleeves have buttons so you can fold them up nicely! The jeans are my favourite shape from Oasis and are perfectly cropped for the sunny weather!

I've ensured it still looks feminine with floral pumps, pink shades, and a statement necklace. The necklace helps to break up the shirt and give a bit of shape around the neckline, and I chose a necklace with a floral shapes to match the pumps. The pumps are one of the Keds / Oasis collaborations I let you know about when they launched on Thursday - you can read about them here - but they are so comfortable and lightweight. I picked out the very subtle green colour in the shoe to match to my handbag, keeping the outfit fresh and perfect for a spring day!

OOTD | Sunshine and Stripes

It's Friday, and the sun is shining! What more could we possibly want? Today I am wearing this incredible multi coloured stripe dress from Oasis - I love the spring like colours and it means you can wear it in so many different ways depending which colours you want to pick out. This dress is amazing as it's so figure hugging it shows off your body shape perfectly.

I'm wearing it with an incredible purple handbag, just because I usually wear black or brown handbags, and so I thought this was amazing to celebrate the sun. It's from Folli Follie, is such a beautiful shape and has really good storage so you can fit loads neatly in the bag. Plus it comes in loads of different colours! I used to work for Folli Follie when I interned in Paris - it was my first real job, so the brand holds a special place in my heart!

I've picked out the white of the dress with some chunky white heels, perfect if you want a casual look but want a bit of extra height, and added some pastel pink sunglasses with a 70s shape. And finally I've broken up the stripes around my neck with my favourite statement necklace from Claire's.

Let me know what you think of my outfit, and don't forget to check out my post yesterday about Oasis amazing shoe collaboration with Keds. I'm going to be giving a pair away on my twitter at the end of the day too, so make sure you follow, RT, and reply with your favourite song. I'll be playing your songs on my show on Hoxton Radio between 2pm - 4pm today! Happy Friday indeed!

OOTD | Oasis X Keds collaboration

Good morning guys,

I've been waiting for weeks to share this blog post with you and today I finally can, so excuse the early post I just couldn't wait any longer!

Oasis, one of my favourite brands on the high street, have collaborated with Keds to bring out four amazing and completely different shoes that launch TODAY! Each shoe represents a different personality, and the 'English Rose' shoe couldn't portray me any better.

The English Rose shoe

I absolutely adore this floral footwear with the pastel blue, purple, pink, and green colours making them the perfect shoe to step into Spring (so proud of myself for that one!). Spring has always been my favourite season because the weather gets warmer and nature comes to life, and floral prints are a big trend this season.

As well as looking amazing I was genuinely impressed with how comfortable the shoes are. They are cushioned in the soles making it feel like you are walking on a cloud - hopefully this will be the only cloud around and we'll have skies as blue as the shoes all summer! I'm wearing a size 5 by the way - I'm usually a 5 or a 6, but the 5 fitted perfectly.

As I mentioned, each shoe represents a different personality, and this is how the English Rose is described:

MY FRIENDS WOULD DESCRIBE ME AS A DREAMER OR ‘ARTY’ TYPE. WHEN I’M NOT ADDING SWEET TOUCHES TO MY HOME OR BAKING BIRTHDAY CUPCAKES, I’M LOST IN BOOKS, FILMS OR THE GREAT OUTDOORS􏰀

I am most definitely a daydreamer, it's even written on my twitter biography! And as you will know from my blog and social media I am obsessed with books, running, and creating healthy snacks and juices. I couldn't have created a more fitting shoe for myself!

If you're curious to see which shoe is fits your personality you can take a quiz here and just by doing so you can win a Virgin Experience Day!

Check out how I styled the English Rose shoe in these photos:

IMG_2642.JPG

Outfit:

My style is always very relaxed and I often gets described as girl next door with a country twist (I grew up in the countryside). When I wear prints or patterns I like to keep everything else simple to let that one statement item draw attention. I teamed my floral keds with a simple denim dress and trilby. Denim is classically cool, a big trend this season but also cool and light for a summers day. Because I'm quite curvy, I always like to wear something fitted around the waist to show off my body shape so the belt is the perfect finish and it comes with the dress. A hat can really bring an outfit together and I absolutely adore this trilby, but also keeps those harmful sunny rays off my face - I'm big on sun protection! This outfit is simple but feminine, perfect for a summers day with friends or perhaps on a day date.

Floral Shoes: The English Rose shoes collaboration - Oasis x Keds

Denim dress: Oasis

Trilby Straw Hat: Oasis

Do you like the way I've styled the shoes? How would you style them differently? I always love to hear from you.

The different shoes and their personalities:

As well as the English Rose, Oasis' collaboration with Keds also offers three other style of shoe:

The Style Hunter, which is an animal print slip on shoe.

The Perfectionist, which embraces the nautical theme and another on season trend, blue & white stripes.

The Jetsetter, which is a tropical patterned slip on shoe.

The really great thing about this collaboration is there really is something for everyone, as I imagine if you're not a fan of flowers you might be a fan of animal print or stripes? Lucky for me I am a fan of animal print and stripes, so I'm definitely going to be getting more than one pair, especially knowing how comfortable they are.

Quiz / Competition

Don't forget to take the online quiz to find out which keds best express your personality, you can take it hereLet me know if you do it and if you think it's correct or not. Plus you can win a Virgin Experience day, which is very exciting!

If you like the look of the shoes but need some inspiration on how to style thems, then you can check out the website here or to see the shoes then go here

The perfect day time outfit (in my opinion anyway!)

I really hope you enjoyed this post and some of my excitement has been shared.

I hope you all have a lovely day in this amazing sunshine.

OOTD | LFW Outfit 5

The penultimate day of Fashion Week, and possibly my favourite outfit - if I do say so myself. My feet were sore, my eyes were tired - I suppose that works both way round. Anyway, I decided to dress head to in black and try and distract the attention away from my eyes with the help of big sunglasses and bright lips. I bought this lip crayon on the way to Somerset House and I absolutely love it - it's really glossy and moisturising and lasts for ages. My orange bag got a lot of attention - and I also saw lots of orange pops of colour on the catwalk so it's very on trend AND fits loads in it!

OOTD | LFW Outfit 1

I was extremely fickle for my first London Fashion week outfit, so this post kind of shows the different ways you can wear floral trousers! I wanted a good casual day time look as I had my radio show before having to go to my first show, so this is a very casual daytime look. Oh, and the trousers are currently in the sale too :)

I'm a big fan of the navy Lipsy coat, it's super warm and it always gets lots of compliments when I wear it too.

OOTD | Oh My Black

You can't go wrong with an all-black outfit, but I particularly love this kimono to make a plain outfit a bit more interesting. I've featured these leather look trousers in so many outfit posts, but they are honestly incredible. They're only £24.99 and I get asked all the time if they're designer - they've never lost their shape. The top is actually a body, which means it's great for shape as it keeps the love handles tucked in :)
